It is a very popular profession as it offers a full career path with excellent prospects. The work can involve advanced data cabling, computer controlled building systems, maintaining street light systems and installing power, lighting, fire and security systems.
At Leeds College of Building we offer a 1 year full-time and an apprenticeship in Electrotechnical. If you take the 1 year option you will then need to move onto an apprenticeship. To become a qualified electrician you have to complete an advanced apprenticeship which is available at the College.
