The SkillBuild competition is the largest multi-trade competition in the country for construction trainees and apprentices. 

It covers crafts including:

• Carpentry
• Joinery
• Bricklaying
• Cabinet Making
• Plastering
• Dry Walling Systems
• Painting and Decorating
• Wall and Floor Tiling
• Roofing

The competition is run by ConstructionSkills in association with UK Skills. Success at the SkillBuild final in 2010 will give entrants the opportunity to challenge for a place on the shortlist and could eventually progress to compete at the 2011 WorldSkills competition in London.

In last year's competition students from Leeds College of Building were awarded 2 gold medals at the final.
