Construction Industry
Construction is the creation of the built environment around us, from repair and maintenance, new housing developments to sporting stadiums. The built environment covers building, construction, design and engineering.
It covers all stages, from the initial design of a building, the actual construction of it, to adding the finishing touches. Work can involve designing a state of the art football stadium to simply giving a home a new lease of life.
It’s is an interesting and rewarding career path, you can earn while you learn, be your own boss and manage high profile projects.
There are hundreds of job roles, from site work to office work or a combination of the two. Getting into construction is easy and at Leeds College of Building we have a number of routes, from Apprenticeships, vocational qualifications or more academic courses.
A skills shortage in the UK at the moment means that qualified trades people will be in high demand, so it’s a great time to start a career in construction.
