Summer School

SUMMER SCHOOL - FREE FOR 16-18 YEAR OLDS & ONLY £30 FOR OVER 19'S!

We have got the following dates running:

Technical Summer School: 9th - 13th July

Ideal for those who are interested interested in a professional or managerial construxtion course (Full Time level 2 or level 3 BTEC course). You will spend 2 days in the classroom and doing fieldwork and 3 days in the workshop.

You will learn the basic skills in the following technical and practical disciplines:

Brickwork
Building Surveying
Health & Safety
Land Surveying
Plastering
Technical Drawing
Wall & Floor Tiling

Summer School: 16th - 20th July & 30th July - 3rd August

Ideal for those considering a course at the College or those who want to pick up some basic DIY skills. You will spend one day in the classroom doing Health & Safety and drawing, the remaining four days will be spent doing two subjects from the options below.

Brickwork
Carpentry & Joinery
Painting & Decorating
Plastering
Plumbing
Wall & Floor Tiling

As well as picking up some useful skills you could also gain a qualification, the BTEC Level 1 Award in Construction.

Other Information

You must be aged 16* or over
No formal qualifications are necessary for entry
If you have attended Easter or Summer School in previous years and achieved the BTEC Level 1 Award in Construction you are not eligible to attend again
The course runs Monday to Friday 9am - 4pm
Safety boots are provided, however you can wear your own boots and we advise you to wear old clothing
Lunch is not provided

* Must be age 16 before September 2012

For any over 19's, the £30 payment is required up front. If you wish to cancel, you will be given a full refund if you provide two week's notice.

For any candidates who are in receipt of means testes benefits you may be entitled to a fee waiver so the course is free.
