College Life
Leeds College of Building works closely with local schools to build links and deliver a comprehensive range of high-quality vocational learning opportunities related to construction and building for those aged 14-16, with excellent progression opportunities into further education.
We offer work-related construction courses for school pupils in Year 9 onwards. Some of the courses are held here at the College and we also visit schools to help set up and deliver similar programmes.
Team Ed is a fantastic opportunity for those interested in pursuing a career in construction to gain experience of what is involved and what it is like to study at College.
In construction there are normally three routes available, academic, practical and Apprenticeships.
Academic:
If you are interested in the theory side of construction, which can lead to a career in civil engineering, construction management, building and design then the CBE diploma is the ideal course for you.
Practical:
If you are more hands on and like to build, design and make things.
Apprenticeship:
Combines working with studying, so you learn on the job.
More information on the courses available can be found in this section, you can also visit the Construction Zone to find out about the careers and progression routes available in Construction.
