The College’s Governing Body has a membership of up to 20 people including the Principal/CEO and Staff/Student Governors. Governors are appointed, initially, for a four-year period of office (excepting Student Governors who are usually appointed for a period of one academic year). At the end of this period, they may be appointed for one further four-year term.
On appointment, Governors sit on the full Governing Body and and also on one of the Committees (Audit & Risk; Curriculum, Performance & Standards; Finance & Resources; People and Governance).
Associate Governors are not full Board members but co-opted onto one of the above committees on a yearly basis to bring specific expertise.
College Governors & Associate Governors are unpaid, voluntary positions although appropriate expenses are payable.
