The College’s Governing Body has a membership of up to 17 people including the Principal/CEO and Staff/Student Governors. Governors are appointed, initially, for a four-year period of office (excepting Student Governors who are usually appointed for a period of one academic year). On appointment, Governors sit on the full Governing Body and some Governors also sit on one of the Committees (Audit, Search and Governance, and Performance and Remuneration).
College Governors are unpaid, voluntary positions although appropriate expenses are payable.

In collaboration with the College management and administration staff, Karen also facilitates Governor training events during the year. Recent events have included Safeguarding, Prevent, FE benchmarking and National Leadership of Governance.
