Coronavirus Update

For the attention of students, parents, carers and employers

Latest update

The Prime Minister announced that all secondary schools and colleges can return in a limited capacity from 15th June. This is dependent upon the five tests the government set out being met and the College being Covid Secure.

Leeds College of Building is preparing for a phased return and a detailed risk assessment is available, which can be viewed here.

Part of the phased return is bringing students and apprentices back in to the College who need to complete outstanding work.

Not all students or apprentices need to return – the Department for Education and Awarding Organisations are allowing flexibilities with assessments which mean that some students and apprentices will have calculated grades and others will need to complete adapted assessments.

Curriculum Managers are working through the guidance that has been provided, and over the next few weeks, current students will be contacted to confirm their individual circumstances. Leeds College of Building is continuing to offer remote learning where it is appropriate.

Please note that Leeds College of Building will not physically re-open until it is safe to do so and this will be a gradual and phased return with significant social distancing measures in place which must be adhered to.

Leeds College of Building would like to thank all students, Apprentices, parents and employers for their understanding and engagement over the last few months.

If you have any specific questions, please contact ndavis@lcb.ac.uk

Many thanks

Vice Principal
