Fork Lift Truck Instructor Course

Requirements

Interested participants must be employed. Entry requirements range from Novice - (never sat on a fork lift truck) to Experienced - (must be an experienced Fork Lift Truck Operator).

  • Refresher: 1 day - (must already have same Fork Lift Truck Certificate which needs refreshing)
  • Experienced: Up to 3 days - (must be an experienced Fork Lift Truck Operator)
  • Novice: Up to 5 days - (never sat on a Fork Lift Truck)
  • Conversion: Up to 2 days - (certified in one truck type but requires certification for another truck type)

Description

  • The course involves a theory and practical operating test and covers:
  • An introduction to the truck, plus explanation of the controls and instruments including, starting, moving, steering and stopping the truck
  • Operation of hydraulic controls
  • Pre-use inspection and takeover maintenance
  • Handling pallets, containers and bulk objects associated with the workplace
  • Driving on inclines and ramps
  • Vehicle loading and unloading
  • Stacking and de-stacking - free standing and racking
