Sustainable Built Environment Higher Apprenticeship

Route

The Level 5 qualification provides students with the opportunity to progress onto a range of further undergraduate studies in construction management, building services and other related disciplines.

Requirements

A BTEC Extended Diploma, Subsidiary Diploma, a Level 3 Advanced Apprenticeship or two A Levels grade A* to E. 

Alternative qualifications and appropriate experience may also be considered.

You must be employed within the trade area to be able to undertake this Apprenticeship course.

Description

The Higher Apprenticeship in Sustainable Built Environment provdies vocational knowledge and skills necessary to those pursuing a career in a variety of disciplines including architecture, surveying, planning, maintenance, construction management, building services or civil engineering.

You will have the opportunity to apply critical reasoning and analysis techniques to solve built environment and engineering problems using industry standards, appropriate codes of practice and work-based evidence therby developing personal and business skills which will enable you to contribute to the demands of a professional environment.

There are 3 pathways available so you can specialise in construction and the built environment, building services engineering or civil engineering.

Sixteen modules are required to complete the HND.

  • Civil engineering construction
  • Measuring, tendering and estimating
  • Site surveying procedures
  • Science and materials
  • Health, safety and welfare
