Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible for 40% ESF funding towards the cost of training, the following eligibility criteria must be met:

  • Are you a construction business or operating in a related industry (i.e. Building Services, Civil Engineering, Quantity Surveying)?
  • Are you based in the Leeds City Region? – This includes the following districts – Bradford, Calderdale, Craven, Harrogate, Kirklees, Leeds, Selby, Wakefield and York.
  • Employ less than 250 full time equivalent staff and have an annual turnover not exceeding £29million.
  • Able to contribute 60% towards the total cost of training?

To be eligible for 25% ESF funding towards the cost of training your business must meet the following criteria:

  • Are you a large employer based in the Leeds City Region?
  • Employ over 250 full time equivalent?
  • Operating in a construction or related industry sector?
  • Have the potential to support radical uplifts in growth, productivity and business success.
  • Be linked to capital investments in rail/other transport/ housing regeneration.
  • Supports the inward investment plans which can help improve SMEs supply chain in Leeds City Region.

The level of intervention will vary in each case. The support for larger companies has to go for referral through the LEP, the Skills Service and Investor Development.

Training Eligibility

Below are the types of activity that could be eligible for funded support through the European Social Fund (ESF):

  • Accredited training
  • Short courses
  • Units or modules of training
  • Bespoke training
  • E-learning/online/distance learning
  • Higher level courses where they are not funded by OfS (Office for Students, Formerly HEFCE).
