Declan shines during apprenticeship
Plumbing Apprenticeship
Declan, a second year plumbing apprentice at the College is currently undertaking employment with Andrew Beatson Plumbing & Heating Ltd.
Andrew Beatson Plumbing and Heating Ltd are a small family business with a team of seven, including two apprentices and three fully qualified engineers. As a Gas Safe Registered firm, they are licensed to install boilers and central heating systems for both domestic and commercial clients.
We recently spoke to Emily Peel, Company Director to find out how Declan is progressing with his apprenticeship and we were delighted with what she had to say:
“When Declan first joined the team he was a quiet 18 year old who was eager to learn. To this day he still has that hunger to learn and improve and confidence has grown. He is now a vital part of the team and the company. His skills, both plumbing and customer service wise have gone from strength to strength, we are proud to see how far he has come.
His enthusiasm and confidence is vital in his learning and if he makes a mistake, he learns and develops to ensure this doesn’t happen again. He communicates with us and asks questions if he isn’t sure about something, which is important, as it helps us understand his level of understanding and makes sure we support him in the correct way.
Customers and suppliers that we work with always say; “We need a Declan!” He is a personable and delightful young man and is a credit to himself and his family and it is our pleasure to call you a member of our team.”
