Vital Energi take on two apprentices
Heating Apprenticeships
Vital Energi have over 30 years' experience in the district heating and cooling industry and they are currently working on a project in Leeds, near the College’s North Street Campus. The project involves the installation of a heating and ventilation system in a block of flats.
Vital Energi visited the College and had a tour of the workshops and met with the team to discuss the education and training that is available.
They were so impressed with the College that they agreed to take on two apprentices. Working with the College’s Work Placement Officers they organised for 8 full-time students to be interviewed and take part in a 4 week trial period.
It was a fantastic experience for the students who took part; they experienced working on a live site, getting to know the company and the standards they expect from their employees and also what can be achieved if you are dedicated and hard-working.
We are delighted with how the students conducted themselves on their work placements, two students were granted an apprenticeship and for the remaining students, they will be able to put the work experience on their CVs, which is very valuable when seeking employment.
