This BTEC Level 3 Building Services Engineering course covers the maths and science related to construction and building services and how to design plumbing, heating & air conditioning systems that are efficient and environmentally-friendly.
This is a 16-18 year study programme course, it is for students who are finishing year 11 this year, or for those who have recently left. It is equivalent to 3 A-Levels.
In the first year you will study the BTEC Level 3 in Construction & the Built Environment, and in the second year you will complete modules in Building Services Engineering.
Building services engineers are responsible for the design, specification and management of systems in new and existing buildings creating a safe and comfortable environment. This includes heating, lighting, water supplies, plumbing, control systems and fire, security and alarm systems.
Our study programmes include a vocational course, English and maths, work experience and employability skills.
Students also have the opportunity to take part in sport and enrichment activities alongside their course.
You can easily transfer from a study programme onto a building services engineering apprenticeship course if you secure employment in the building services engineering industry.

No matter what level you are currently working at, you will continue learning English and maths throughout your course.
This qualification requires 4 GCSEs, including English, Maths and Science at grade 4 or above, plus one other subject at grade 4 and above.

After completing this course there are a number of options available for you; depending on your final grade you could move onto a higher education course including a HNC in Building Services Engineering, a HND in Building Services Engineering, a Higher Apprenticeship or progress to university.
