What will I learn at College?

The domestic and commercial gas foundation courses are aimed at those who wish to undertake prior training before seeking a career in the gas industry. It is ideal for those who do not have the qualifications required to undertake the ACS gas assessment.

The programme consists of classes at college and on-the-job training by a Core Gas Safety registered person.

On completion of the training, portfolio, exam and successful recommendation, candidates are issued with a BPEC Gas Foundation certificate.

Upon receipt of the Gas Foundation certificate candidates can then apply to undertake the relevant ACS assessments.

Entry requirements

Access to on-the-job training with a Gas Safe registered person. A background in Mechanical & Electrical services is desirable but not essential.

Next steps

Progress to either ACS Domestic Initial Gas Safety (CCN1) course or ACS Commercial Initial Safety (COCN1) course.
