The student must have prior knowledge or be an experienced electrician with existing and specific qualifications in electrical work (16th or 17th Electrical Edition qualification completed previously).

This qualification is primarily aimed at practising electricians with relevant experience and other allied professionals e.g. surveyors, consultants and other trades needing to update and enhance their understanding of IET Wiring Regulations.
It is also suitable for anyone wishing to demonstrate an understanding of the IET 18th Edition Wiring Regulations needing to upskill.
Electricians who have taken time out of the industry and are looking to return, it is possible they have previously held the 16th Edition certification. This course will benefit them as they can update their knowledge to the current 18th Edition industry standard.
