Course Overview

Plumbing Level 1 Award is designed as a basic insight into plumbing, it will give you the basic hand skills necessary to carry out small plumbing tasks.

This plumbing course is ideal for those who want to pursue a career as an plumber.

Plumbers have a highly varied role, it can include installing, servicing and repairing sanitation, heating and hot and cold water systems in buildings. You will fit pipework to baths, showers, toilets, radiators and central heating boilers. You will carry out installations of central heating and sanitary systems.


Course content

1. Health and safety within the industry theory In this unit, learners will find out about health and safety legislation, and the application of safe working practices within a workplace. They will explore hazards and precautions, signs and symbols and basic safety procedures.


2. Woking with Copper Pipe you will learn:

  • Hand tools operations
  • Identify fittings and materials
  • Forming capillary joints( soldering)
  • Forming compression joints
  • Bending copper pipe


3. Install Water Gutting systems

  • Correct procedure for installation
  • Identify fittings and materials
  • Measuring and marking

Entry requirements

A basic understanding of the English language due to the theory part of the course.


Course length

The course is available this summer as a 2 week short course.

This course will be run daily Monday - Friday for 2 weeks. 

8:30am - 4pm daily.
