This Bench Joinery Apprenticeship is available to anyone aged over 16.
Bench Joiners (or Architectural Joiners) are based in a workshop and produce timber products such as doors, window frames, staircases and cabinets.
They use traditional woodworking tools as well as specialised power or hand tools for cutting, shaping, smoothing and finishing.
This apprenticeship is available on a hybrid model where the apprentice will attend college on a day-release basis but each half term they'll be required to complete one whole week block
On completion of this apprenticeship, bench joiners will have the knowledge and skills to:
No matter what level you are currently working at, you will be expected to further your skills in Maths & English.
You should be aged 16 or over and ideally already be employed or have secured a work placement, however we may be able to help you with this. Good GCSEs are recommended and you will be required to sit a skills assessment.

If you are aged 16-18 and you are unable to find an apprenticeship, you can apply for a study programme and switch over at any point when you do find one.

From 1st April 2021 all employers are required to use the government apprenticeship service to secure funding for any apprentices they wish to employ. Apprentices will be unable to start their course at college without reserving funding.
