This Level 3 Gas Engineering Apprenticeship is available to anyone aged over 16, who is currently working or want to work within the Gas Sector as a gas engineer.
It allows students to develop the knowledge and practise the skills required for employment in the gas engineering industry.
Gas engineers specialise in the installation and repair of gas appliances including, central heating boilers and systems, cookers, fires and water heaters.
The work is safety critical and you will need to learn how to implement statutory requirements such as the gas safety regulations.
No matter what level you are currently working at, you will be expected to further your skills in English and maths.
It is desirable that you have 4 GCSEs at grade A*-C (9-4) including English, Maths and Science.
You must have achieved a grade 3 or above in both English and Maths for this apprenticeship.
All applicants will be required to pass an assessment and be aged 16 or over, already be employed or have secured a work placement.

If you are aged 16-18 and unable to find an apprenticeship, you can apply for a plumbing study programme and switch over at any point when you do find one.

From 1st April 2021 all employers are required to use the government apprenticeship service to secure funding for any apprentices they wish to employ. Apprentices will be unable to start their course at college without reserving funding.

To enable the Apprentices to access the End Point Assessment they must complete the Level 3 Diploma in Gas Engineering (9074) with the on onsite portfolio, be gas safe registered and have or achieved:
