Become a Plumber
Plumbers have a highly varied role, it can include installing, servicing and repairing sanitation, heating and hot and cold water systems in buildings. You will fit pipework to baths, showers, toilets, radiators and central heating boilers. You will carry out installations of central heating and sanitary systems. You may also carry out emergency repair work. Hours of work vary, typically are Monday to Friday with overtime at weekends and possibly overnight. They work both indoors and outdoors.

Plumbing is available as a study programme, part-time or apprenticeship course. Good GCSEs are recommended for measurements and calculations.
At Leeds College of Building entry is via a basic skills test or for part-time courses a relevant qualification.
Newly trained plumbers can earn in the region of £19,000 - £25,000
Trained with experience plumbers can earn in the region of £25,000 - £30,000
Senior/master crafts plumbers can earn in the region of £30,000 - £60,000
