School Liaison

Our programme of activities is designed to help students make an informed decision about their future. We are keen to work with teachers and careers advisors to ensure students are kept up-to-date with any information that could enhance their transition to further or higher education.

We offer your students the chance to speak to current LCB students, find out about the progression and career opportunities available and take part in taster sessions with industry trained staff.

We offer various activities, including:

  • Presentations
  • Campus tours
  • Understanding Apprenticeships
  • Taster days, including female only days
  • Open events

We don’t just want students on courses, we want them on the right courses. So whether they’re interested in Apprenticeships, practical, technical or higher education construction courses, make sure they start their career with LCB!

We work with a number of schools across West Yorkshire and beyond, below is feedback from some of the schools we work with:

Claire Passmore, Enterprise Co-ordinator, The Co-operative Academy of Leeds

"Leeds College of Building have been a huge help supporting our academy career and aspiration programme. Representatives from the college have attended our annual career fair, post 16 focus sessions and whole year assemblies. Our relationship with the college enhances students understanding on how they can progress to further education or apprenticeships in the building and construction sector."

Amanda Crossley, Partnership Development Manager, Tadcaster Grammar School

"Tadcaster Grammar School has developed an excellent relationship with Leeds College of Building through the Schools Liaison Team and we are pleased with the opportunities offered to our students.  Namely, attendance at taster events, targeted taster days, hosting drop down days, coming into school for careers talks and careers events both at FE & HE.  The team work flexibly to accommodate the many oddities of school life and are very helpful."

Joe Coluccio, Head of the Catholic Partnership

"The catholic partnership of schools continues to have a positive relationship with LCB, in order to fulfil the potential of the pupils within our schools, who express an interest in pursuing a pathway in construction. The college is always willing to listen and accommodate us, whether it be a short or long term programme. Specific programmes have also been requested and designed for the Catholic Partnership, they regularly attend the annual Catholic Careers Events and are willing to provide college tours for pupils."
