Rapid Lateral flow testing

Staff and students are now being encouraged to take part in home testing, and have been provided with lateral flow test kits to use at home.

We are encouraging all staff and students to take part in lateral flow testing so that we can all play our part in helping the government understand the amount of COVID-19 circulating in a community, especially as restrictions are starting to ease.

It’s provides extra reassurance when meeting family and friends, and also helps keep staff and students safe when on College campuses.

It is recommended to do two tests a week, whether you are in College or not.

Test collection points

Tests can be collected from the reception areas at North Street and South Bank 1, and from the coffee shops at North Street and South Bank 2.

Reporting results

You need to upload the result (positive, negative or void) of your lateral flow test to the government website: Report a COVID-19 rapid lateral flow test result - GOV.UK (www.gov.uk)

You only need to inform the College if you test positive, you can do this by calling 0113 222 6073 or emailing CV19@lcb.ac.uk so that test and trace can be carried out.

YouTube videos

Here is a link to some very useful videos provided by the NHS, which show you how to administer the tests: Step by step self testing guide

If your son or daughter is returning to College for the first time during the spring term, we would like them to get tested on campus, if they are under the age of 18 they must first discuss participation with their parent/carer. We would therefore encourage all parents/carers to discuss the option of participating in the testing process with their child and would welcome your support in this programme.  You can read more about this here:
