Student Creates Pop-tastic Tile Design

A student from Leeds College of Building has partnered up with tile retailer, CTD Tiles to create a Batman inspired design made entirely from tiles.
Callum Pearson, who is also an apprentice at family run bathroom and kitchen installation company D.Pearson Bathrooms & Kitchens, created “Night Vigilante”, inspired by popular culture.
Callum created the superhero fan art in under four hours. The task allowed him to practice for his entry in the UK National Final of the SkillBuild 2017 competition, which took place earlier this month.
Alongside showing off his talents at the SkillBuild competition, Callum was also awarded Tiler of the Month in May this year for his high standard of work, good attendance, and punctuality.
Steve Roberts, Callum’s tutor at the College, said
“We find working with companies a really valuable experience for both the college and its students. By collaborating with CTD Tiles, Callum has gained some hands-on experience in creating a challenging design which has helped him prepare for the SkillBuild UK National final.”
Night Vigilante is part of the Pixel Pop range, a collection of fan art tile bundles for the biggest pop culture fans. The packs allow customers to recreate their favourite characters from well-known comics, films, games and television programmes. For more information visit the CTD Tiles website.
