Apprenticeship Application

Follow these steps to success!

Apply for the apprenticeship you want to study online, in person or by post. Remember, you must have an employer to apply for an apprenticeship.

If you do not have an employer you can download the Top Tips Leaflet, employer vacancies are also promoted on the National Apprenticeship Service website where you can register your details and search for apprenticeships.

You could also consider applying for a study programme, many of our students enrol on a study programme and during their first year transfer over to an apprenticeship when they find an employer. We have a bank of employers who regularly recruit directly from our study programme students. You can also contact the Apprenticeship Team to see if we have any vacancies.

You will receive a letter inviting you into the college to sit a skills assessment. The skills assessment is a bksb initial maths & English assessment and either the BPEC or CITB skills test. These help the College identify what level you are currently studying at so that we can put you on the right course.

Please note you will need to pass the assessment.

If you’re applying for a building services engineering, construction & the built environment or civil engineering course you will not be required to sit a skills assessment.

If you have successfully passed the skills assessment, you will receive a letter confirming that you have been offered a place. Your employer will be contacted and a meeting will be organised with them to ensure they meet the correct health and safety requirements. Remember to send us your GCSE results or predicted grades and details of your National Insurance number.

Start Date

Once the paperwork has been completed by your employer, you will receive a letter confirming your start date.
