The Football Academy

Want to develop your football skills whilst studying? You can combine our Level 1 Extended Certificate in Multi-Skills with a 1st4sport Level 1 Award in Football Coaching. By the end of the course you can be qualified as a Level 1 Football Coach. 

Course overview

Level 1 Extended Certificate 

This multi-skills course is ideal for those who are unsure which route to chose.

This Study Programme is where you can gain a board understanding and learn basic skills in the following areas:

  • Bricklaying
  • Carpentry & Joinery
  • Painting & Decorating
  • Plastering
  • Wall & Floor Tiling

Our study programmes include a vocational course, English and maths, work experience and employability skills.

1st4sport Level 1 Award in Football Coaching

This award covers:

  • Player and coach development
  • Laws of the game
  • Various coaching skills including passing, shooting, dribbling and attacking
  • FA Emergency Aid
  • FA Safeguarding 

This is an exciting and unique opportunity where students can combine playing football every Wednesday in the ESFA  College league, train every Monday by a qualified UEFA B football coach at goals soccer centre, gain a qualification in trade skills  and become a level 1 football coach all in one year.

This opportunity also offers players weekly access to Virgin active gym and to participate in the National citizen programme which you can gain valuable skills and have the chance to go on a summer residential. 

Entry requirements

The course level you will be enrolled on will be dependent on your GCSE results. This will be discussed at your interview. Your interview will be confirmed after your application has been processed. 

What can I do after this course?

After completing this course there are a number of options available; depending on your final grade you could move onto an apprenticeship, or a study programme course in bricklaying, carpentry & joinery, painting & decorating, plastering and wall & floor tiling.
