What would I learn at College?

Gas Service Engineers must renew their ACS certificate every 5 years in order to continue conforming to the Gas Safe registration requirements.

On expiry, candidates are eligible to take re-assessment. The ACS Commercial Core Gas Safety (COCN1) re-assessment can be taken up to 6 months prior to the expiry date of the initial qualification without losing out (MOT Style). Previous certificates must be presented as evidence of holding the initial qualification.

  • Commercial installation
  • Commercial ventilation
  • Gas safety controls
  • Combination and flue gas analysis

Entry requirements

Applicants must have recently completed the BPEC Gas Foundation Course or be experienced category 1 gas fitting operatives who hold ACS, ACoPs, S/NVQ or City & Guilds Gas Qualifications.
