What would I learn at College?

The Higher Apprenticeship in Construction Management (Sustainability) provides the vocational knowledge and skills necessary to those pursuing a career in a variety of disciplines including architecture, surveying, planning, maintenance, construction management, building services or civil engineering.

You will have the opportunity to apply critical reasoning and analysis techniques to solve built environment and engineering problems, using industry standards, appropriate codes of practice and work based evidence thereby developing personal and business skills, which will enable you to contribute to the demands of a professional environment.

There are 3 pathways available so you can specialise in construction & the built environment, building services engineering or civil engineering.

Sixteen modules are required to complete the HND and a portfolio of work based evidence is required for completion of the NVQ element of the apprenticeship.

Some of the units covered on the course include: design and management of principles, energy utilisation and efficiency, civil engineering construction, measurement, tendering and estimating, site surveying procedures, science and materials, health, safety and welfare.
