This Level 2 Site Carpentry Apprenticeship course is available to anyone aged 16 and over.
Carpenters work with wood on building sites or in customers’ homes to fit or repair doors, window frames, stairs, floorboards, cupboards, roof trusses and partitions. They use traditional woodworking tools as well as specialised power or hand tools for cutting, shaping, smoothing and finishing.
Regardless of what level you will be working at, you will be expected to further your skills in English and maths whilst on the course.
This apprenticeship is available on a hybrid model where the apprentice will attend college on a day-release basis but each half term they’ll be required to complete one whole week block.

From 1st April 2021 all employers are required to use the government apprenticeship service to secure funding for any apprentices they wish to employ. Â Apprentices will be unable to start their course at college without reserving funding.

You should be aged 16 or over and ideally already be employed or have secured a work placement, however we may be able to help you with this. Good GCSEs are recommended and you will be required to sit a skills assessment.

If you are aged 16-18 and you are unable to find an apprenticeship, you can apply for a study programme and switch over at any point when you do find one.

After completing this course there are a number of options available, depending on your final grade you could move onto the Level 3 Site Carpentry Apprenticeship or seek permanent employment.
This Level 3 Bench Joinery Apprenticeship is available to those who have completed the Level 2 Bench Joinery Apprenticeship.
This Level 3 Site Carpentry Apprenticeship is available to those who have completed the Level 2 Site Carpentry Apprenticeship.
