LCB is the UK’s only specialist further education college focused solely on construction and the built environment, over the next few years our aim is to be recognised as the country’s leading provider of construction education.

Today, the UK construction industry is booming. The sector employs over 2 million people across a huge range of trades and professions and contributes billions of pounds to the UK economy.

With growing skills shortages, ambitious government targets for new housing, infrastructure projects, and attaining net-zero carbon, there’s never been a better time to get into construction.

We are committed to support the construction industry to reach the national targets. Leeds is our home and it’s a city with a large and varied geographical footprint that allows planning for growth in a more sustainable way than many other comparative cities.

LCB is Growing

Work has started on a new addition to our historical North Street Campus. This new building is a major site acquisition and allows us to grow the capacity of our education provision.

The new site will effectively increase the size of our estate by a third, marking a significant investment in our future growth and highlights our ambition to expand and improve.

Leeds College of Building has a national reputation for excellence when it comes to construction and built environment training.

We attract apprentices from as far away as Cornwall to Newcastle –because they know we offer some of the best and most specialised training in the business.

From specialist workshops to high-tech digital suites, our state-of-the-art facilities are built to deliver the best construction training. Students learn in environments that mirror real-life industry settings, gaining skills that translate directly to the workplace.

Our experienced tutors bring industry knowledge straight into the classroom, combining hands-on learning with real-world insight to prepare students for successful careers. We welcome our construction partners to help us shape our curriculum, ensuring our students have all the skills ready for site.

We’re proud that our college isn’t just shaping individual futures, we also support the wider community. We work with employers, local communicaties and industry partners to meet the skills gap and drive economic growth.
