The learner must be working in the Painting & Decorating industry and have prior knowledge and skills to have gained a Level 2 NVQ or Standard in Painting & Decorating. Learners will be required to collect evidence in the workplace and upload onto a digital platform. Learners must work for a Painting & Decorating company who produce work that meets the criteria for the course including:

  • Applying standard and specialist wallpapers to complex surfaces in the workplace
  • Apply painted finishes to complex surfaces by brush in the workplaces.

Without access to named specialist work, criteria cannot be achieved. The course is mainly evidence based which is gained on site, alongside assessor observations. Training on systems will be given, but access to, and ability to use IT is essential.

The course is fully funded for eligible individuals who are aged 19-23 years, UK residents who have lived in the country for the past 3 years, or those who have the right to work and study in the UK. Learners over 24 years of age, can also be funded via the Adult Education Budget.
