Course overview

The Level 4 Site Supervisor course is designed for individuals seeking to take their first step into site leadership roles within the construction industry. It provides the essential knowledge and practical skills required to supervise teams, manage site activities, and ensure that health, safety, quality, and productivity standards are met on construction projects.

The curriculum covers key areas including site operations, health and safety legislation, communication and leadership, and resource management. Students will also gain an introduction to legal awareness and design information, building a strong foundation in site-based project delivery.

This course prepares learners for immediate employment in supervisory roles or progression to a higher-level qualification, such as a degree in Construction Site Management. Whether you’re aiming to build a long-term career in construction or take the next step towards site management, this course offers the knowledge and confidence to succeed.

Entry requirements

Applicants should have the following qualifications:

  • An appropriate Level 3 qualification or apprenticeship.
  • GCSE English (grade 5+)
  • GCSE Maths (grade 5+)

  • Unit 4 – Construction Environment
  • Unit 5 – Statutory Legal Requirements
  • Unit 6 – Digital Applications for Construction
  • Unit 7 – Surveying, Measurement & Setting out
  • Unit 11 – Finance Management & Business
  • Unit 20 – Site Supervision & Operations

This course does not feature an end point assessment (EPA).

After completing this course there are a number of options available; apprentices could seek full-time employment or consider a degree apprenticeship. Completing this course will also give you the opportunity to apply for technical membership with the Chartered Institute of Building (CIOB).
