Posted on 14 January

Leeds College of Building (LCB) has announced the appointment of Daniel Grimes as Assistant Principal for Quality & Student Experience.

Serving as LCB’s former Head of Quality Improvement, Daniel took up the post this month and brings significant experience across quality, teaching and learning, and Ofsted.

Daniel will play a pivotal role in shaping the next phase of LCB’s development. Recently named Yorkshire and Humberside’s regional Construction Technical Excellence College (CTEC), LCB is just one of ten CTECs nationally.

LCB is the UK’s only specialist general further education college for construction and the built environment, with a proven track record in technical education leadership, employer collaboration, and industry innovation.

Rob Holmes, LCB Vice Principal for Quality, Curriculum & Innovation, said:

“We’re delighted to appoint Daniel to this vital college role. His expertise will continue to strengthen our Quality Assurance Framework, driving improvement and high-quality teaching, learning, and assessment.

“Daniel’s extensive knowledge of the sector is hugely beneficial to the Strategic Leadership Team and the college as a whole. We look forward to working together to further LCB’s student experience and our reputation as a leader in the field of construction training.”

Daniel added:

“I have always loved working at the college due to its unique culture and special people. It is a privilege to work here and an honour to serve our communities. I am passionate about teaching and learning and the transformational impact it can have on students’ lives.

“My job is simple: to ensure all our students are provided with a high-quality experience that creates the conditions for them to achieve their goals. We have a wonderful Quality & Student Experience Team, and my new role will be to continue to reinforce the conditions needed for our talented teams to do their exceptional work.”
