On Site Assessment and Training (OSAT) is a process which enables the experienced worker to achieve National Vocational Qualifications (NVQ).
Everything related to the OSAT is usually done online in your own time and on-site at your place of work; meaning you don’t come into college and the college doesn’t directly teach you anything, we assume you already know it or have made arrangements for work colleague(s) to teach you.
The OSAT process will enable you/your staff to profile your/their skills against the list of skills recognised by the industry.
Suitable evidence is then gathered as part of an independent NVQ assessment of their skills. An NVQ combined with an up to date Health & Safety test is also the route for the Construction Skills Certificate Scheme (CSCS) card.
You must have been working in the industry for the last 3 years and had a discussion with the relevant OSAT Trade Assessor.
After completing this course there are a number of options available; depending on your final grade you could move onto a level 3 qualification or a higher education course including a HTQ/HND, higher apprenticeship or NVQ.
This adult part-time level 3 qualification is aimed at those who have already completed the level 2 qualification or have relevant experience and knowledge of the industry.
This Skill Start course is aimed at those aged 19+ who are interested in a career in the plastering industry or who simply want to gain some skills in this area.
This Plastering Apprenticeship is available to anyone aged over 16. Plasterers mix and apply plaster to walls and ceilings of buildings to provide a smooth or decorative finish.
This is a 16-18 year old plastering study programme course, it is for students who are finishing year 11 this year, or for those who have recently left.
