Course overview

This ACS Domestic Core Gas Safety CCN1 re-assessment course is a necessary requirement of the Nationally Accredited Certification Scheme for Gas Fitting Operatives (ACS) and is required by anyone working on domestic gas installations and appliances.

Entry requirements

You must have recently completed the BPEC Gas Foundation Course or be experienced category 1 gas fitting operatives who hold ACS, ACoPs, S/NVQ or City & Guilds Gas Qualifications.

CCN1 course content typically includes:

  • Gas safety regulations and other relevant legislation (initial training only)
  • Combustion, relevant pressures and gas rates
  • Gas pipe work
  • Tightness testing and purging, including low and medium pressure
  • Chimney systems, recognition and testing
  • Ventilation
  • Gas controls
  • Flue gas analysis

It can be completed as a stand-alone course or in combination with up to 4 appliances.

Appliances include:

  • CENWAT: Central Heating Boilers & Water Heaters
  • CKR1: Cookers
  • HTR1: Space Heaters (including Gas Fires and Wall Heaters)
  • MET1: Meters
