Building Services Engineering HTQ
This Level 4 course provides a solid foundation for those working in the Building Services Industry, equipping students with the core knowledge and practical skills needed to contribute effectively to the sustainable design of commercial budlings.
Through a focused curriculum, students will develop an understanding of key principles in Heat transfer, Maths, and System design. These essential topics are delivered in a practical context, preparing learners to support the fundamental understanding and theories of sustainable design.
Providing a stepping stone to further study, this course prepares students for progression to a Level 6 qualification, such as a BSc (Hons) in Building Services Engineering. Graduates will be well-positioned to take on junior engineering roles in the industry while continuing their professional development.

After completing this course there are a number of options available; students could seek full-time employment or consider a degree or degree apprenticeship in building services. Completing this course will also give you the opportunity to apply for Technical Membership with the Chartered Institute of Building Services Engineers (CIBSE).
The candidate will complete a portfolio of evidence which demonstrates that each of the Knowledge, Skills & Behaviours in the Standard, have been met. This online portfolio of evidence will be submitted to CIBSE for use during the professional discussion.
Completion of the apprenticeship standard will be confirmed following the satisfactory conclusion of an End Point Assessment.
This Level 3 Building Services Engineering Technician Apprenticeship is available to anyone aged over 16.
This Level 3 Building Services Engineering Craftsperson apprenticeship is available to anyone aged 16 or over. It replaces the Level 3 Heating & Ventilation (Industrial & Commercial) Apprenticeship.
