Level 2 Award in F-Gas and Regulations (2079)

The aim of this course is to provide the learner with the knowledge and skills to work on the installation, service, maintenance, recovery and leak checking of stationary refrigeration, air conditioning and heat pump equipment that contains refrigerants classified as either fluorinated (F) gases or ozone depleting substances (ODS).
Candidates will be assessed by theoretical assessment and a practical assessment.
You must have a Level 2 qualification held for a relevant qualification to this industry.
This qualification is designed for experienced workers, it is not entry level. It is desirable that candidates will have significant experience in this sector.
This qualification is not approved for learners under the age of 16.
Level 2 is ideal if you are working, or looking to work, as a refrigeration, air-conditioning and heat pump system engineer and have some relevant knowledge and skills, usually from a role where you’ve been supervised.
You need this qualification as a licence to practise with fluorinated gases and ozone-depleting substances.

This Core Domestic Gas Safety & Combustion Performance Analysis course is a necessary requirement of the Nationally Accredited Certification Scheme for Gas Fitting Operatives (ACS) and is required by anyone working on domestic gas installations and appliances.
This Refrigeration, Air Conditioning & Heat Pump Technician Apprenticeship is available to anyone aged over 16. Refrigeration and air conditioning engineers could work on one of two broad areas.
This Level 3 Gas Engineering Apprenticeship is available to anyone aged over 16. Gas engineers specialise in the installation and repair of gas appliances.
