Course overview

This course provides a basic introduction to welding and is ideal for those who want to learn a new skill or move into employment.

The course is practical based and the learner will have the option to complete one of four welding options, these include:

  • Manual Metal Arc Welding – LAR Code: 60037489
  • Metal Inert Gas MIG Welding – LAR Code: 60037490
  • Oxyacetylene Welding – LAR Code: 60037532
  • Tungsten Inert TIG Welding – LAR Code: 60037544

Please note – only one Welding option may be taken at a time.

Entry requirements

Candidates will complete a basic skills assessment.

After obtaining a Level 1 Award, applicants will have the opportunity to to go for a Level 2 Award.
