Freedom of Information

The public have a right to ask for information held by Leeds College of Building under the Freedom of Information Act 2000 (FOIA) and the Environmental Information Regulations 2004 (EIR).

Making an FOI request

The College publishes a wide range of information on its website and details can be found in our FOIA publication scheme below. If you cannot find what you are looking for, FOIA requests can be submitted to: FreedomOfInformation@lcb.ac.uk. The College is required to reply promptly, and in any case no longer than 20 working days from the date of the request.

Fees

For most requests there will be no charge but charges may be applicable, in line with legislation, if your request is over and beyond normal administrative fees. If fees do apply we will issue a fees notice prior to your request being processed.

Internal reviews

If you are unsatisfied with the response to your request, you can request an internal review. An internal review is carried out by a senior member of staff and allows the College to revisit how the request was handled and whether any exemptions the College engaged were applied correctly.
An internal review should take no longer than 20 working days, though in exception cases may take longer.

The Information Commissioner’s Office

If you are unsatisfied with the outcome of the internal review, you may escalate the request to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) at the following link: FOI and EIR complaints | ICO
The ICO will investigate the request and decide on whether the College has correctly complied with FOIA in the handling of the request.
