As the 18th Edition Electrical Installation course is an upgrade to the latest IET Wiring Regulations, it is essential that all candidates have either the 16th, 17th Edition behind them, or are apprentice trained electricians that are now working in the industry and wish to gain this certificate to progress in the workplace.

The student must have prior knowledge or be an experienced electrician with existing and specific qualifications in electrical work (16th or 17th Electrical Edition qualification completed previously).
Alternatively, the student could be apprentice trained, now working in the industry and wishing to gain this certificate to progress in the workplace.
This qualification is primarily aimed at practising electricians with relevant experience and other allied professionals e.g. surveyors, consultants and other trades needing to update and enhance their understanding of IET Wiring Regulations.
It is also suitable for anyone wishing to demonstrate an understanding of the IET 18th Edition Wiring Regulations needing to upskill.
Electricians who have taken time out of the industry and are looking to return, it is possible they have previously held the 16th Edition certification. This course will benefit them as they can update their knowledge to the current 18th Edition industry standard.
Students will participate in teacher-led discussions and questioning, group work (where appropriate), there will also be a formative assessment where tutors will review and give feedback to students on the assessment.
Knowledge learnt in this course will assist in a wide range of pathways, roles and development within the electrical industry. It allows candidates to progress into employment or to the following City & Guilds qualifications:
This two day practical workshop is aimed at anyone involved in the inspection and testing of portable electrical appliances.
This qualification demonstrates the specialist knowledge and skills you need to be an approved electrician.
We're now running an Electric Vehicle 2921 Training Course as a short course in Electrical Vehicle Charging Installation.
The AM2 or AM2S test must be taken by all candidates who are near completion of the C&G 2356 Electrotechnical NVQ Level 3 qualification, on an apprenticeship or any other relevant training programme.
This adult course will provide you with basic skills in electrical installations.
