Course overview
The main duties and tasks of a Civil Engineering Senior Technician are:
- Produce and deliver Civil Engineering Solutions.
- Manage Civil Engineering Tasks.
- Use Engineering Software.
- Ensure compliance with Health and Safety, apply safe systems of work, including the CDM Regs.
- Recording, control and reporting of progress on a construction project.
- Contribute to the minimisation of the environmental impact of construction projects.
- Control the quality of works.
- Ensure compliance with equality, diversity and inclusion and ethical standards.
Entry requirements
Typically an apprentice will be expected to have achieved at least 5 GCSEs at Grades 4-9 including Maths, English and Science or their equivalent.
Alternative qualifications or appropriate experience may also be considered.
If candidates have a relevant level 3 qualification or appropriate ‘A’ levels, they may progress straight to year 2 of the standard.
