*If you have studied the Plumbing Level 1 (Award & Certificate) in the evening at Leeds College of Building, you can progress onto this at a reduced rate of £420.

All prices are based on the 24/25 academic year. Subsequent years are subject to an annual increase.

Course overview

This course is ideal for those looking to move into the plumbing industry, either as a plumber or a role within the wider building services sector.

It will provide you with the skills that you need for basic plumbing installations or to help you progress onto further study.

This course is available as evening study if you have completed the evening only Plumbing Level 1 Award & Certificate at Leeds College of Building.

All applicants will be tested for English and maths for suitability.

Entry requirements

If you have successfully completed the Plumbing Level 1 Award & Certificate at this College you will be able to progress on to this course.

If you have studied a Plumbing course at another provider we will need to see your qualifications before deciding what level you can start on, you may also be required to sit a maths and English assessment.

All other candidates will need to sit the entrance assessment.

Areas of the course covered include:

  • Health and safety in building services engineering
  • Electrical principles and processes for building services engineering
  • Common plumbing processes
  • Cold water systems
  • Domestic hot water systems
  • Sanitation
  • Bathroom installation (bath, basin, WC, radiators/boiler pipework and airing cupboard)

Please note this course will not enable you to become a fully qualified plumber.

After competition of the Plumbing Studies Level 2 Technical Diploma you may progress onto the Level 3 Diploma.
