Entry requirements

This course has been designed for those already working within the Building Services industry as plumbers or maintenance engineers. BPEC are asking for candidates to confirm they have a Plumbing qualification, or a brief letter from their employer saying they have relevant experience.


What would I learn at College?

The course covers properties of water, with particular focus on how to prevent the harmful legionella pneumophila bacteria, which causes Legionnaires disease. The course explains how a water system should be disinfected and also lists the chemicals that are used in the process.

The course has been reviewed to incorporate 2 previous courses into one course.

The course covers:

  • Risk assessments for landlords
  • The process of doing remedial works (Disinfection)
