Joanna Elvy

Transport Planning Lecturer

Before joining LCB, Joanna carved out an 18 year career working and studying in higher education. For almost 10 years she worked as a technician and visiting lecturer in the Geography and Environmental Sciences Department at the University of Hertfordshire. In that time she taught across a range of subjects and specialised in transport geography, advancing her studies with an MSc in Transport Planning and a 3 year ESRC funded PhD studentship, both at the University of Leeds.

Joanna’s research interests lay in the field of transport equity and ensuring that transport is accessible and inclusive. She is passionate about teaching young people and helping them achieve their full potential. Becoming a lecturer in transport planning at LCB has turned out to be her dream job.
