Registrations for the next Leeds College of Building open event continue to rise, with over 600 attendees intending to visit the North Street Campus event.
Taking place on Thursday, 23 Feb, 5-7 pm, curriculum and support staff will be on hand to showcase the varied careers available in construction and the built environment alongside talks and workshop demonstrations.
For the first time, employers with apprenticeship vacancies will host stands at the open night, including Yorkshire Housing, Preston Harrison roofing, SES (Wates Group) Engineering Services, Wakefield District Housing, and BAM Nuttall.
A special presentation will also be delivered at 5.30 pm in the North Street Campus lecture theatre for students interested in the Leeds College of Building Football Academy.
Leeds College of Building runs a unique BTEC Level 2 Certificate in Construction & the Built Environment, which incorporates an additional Level 1 Award in Football Coaching. This unusual pairing of premier qualifications is proving popular with practically-minded students passionate about the beautiful game.
The College has ambitions to create the first Leeds Colleges women’s football team, so is eager for even more female applicants on the BTEC programme and across other construction specialisms.
Students and employers attending the open night will see the College in action, meet the team, tour the workshops, speak to students, learn more about the courses on offer and see the industry-standard resources and facilities available. Welcome talks will be given at 5 pm, 6 pm, and 6.30 pm and staff will be on hand to help any students applying on the night.
Discover course areas at all levels, from study programmes and apprenticeships to higher education courses and part-time adult classes. Information on student finance, support, the Students’ Union, and enrichment activities is also available.
