Young Writers recently held a creative writing competition for 11-18 year olds to, engage, enthuse and inspire students to write about the theme Welcome to Wonderland.
Students were challenged to create a fictional world before writing a 100 word saga on Utopia or Dystopia. The competition had in excess of 18,000 entries and captured the young writers’ imaginations with stories of alien encounters, changing history and fantasy lands.
15 students from Leeds College of Building made the shortlist and will be published in the regional publication of Welcome to Wonderland – West Yorkshire Adventures.
