Are you looking for personal development or get a job promotion? Perhaps you are looking for a career change or want to support your child at school or with their homework?
Our GCSE English Language course covers reading, writing and Speaking & Listening. We use a range of texts to stimulate your interest and develop crucial skills needed today in personal and professional situations. You'll analyse and compare language, structure and ideas of modern and 19th century writers and use your developing skills to create your own writing - both fiction and non-fiction. Developing your speaking skills both formal and informal is part of the course and you'll gain a separate certificate for this.
You will be invited to do an initial assessment to ensure this is the right course for you. You also need to commit to attending each week and complete any additional set work in between classes - this is an intensive course over one academic year.
Your progress will be supported and monitored at regular check-points throughout the course - this will be via informal and formal assessments. As this is an intensive course, you will be expected to complete further work outside of class to ensure you are exam ready. There are 2 externally set exams on Friday, 23rd May 2025 and Friday, 6th June 2025 - the dates of these exams are fixed and set nationally so please ensure you are available for these as they cannot be changed.
